Work Smarter, not Harder

I hate it when people say “work smarter, not harder”. I feel like there’s a bunch of executives sitting around the table discussing business problems and then one person jumps up and says, “Hey everyone, I got the magic solution! We’ll tell everyone to work smarter and not harder.”

Then all the Harvard Business School Alumni claps and everyone goes home happy. Mission accomplished. But it doesn’t work that way.

Burning Out

We all have choices. And no one ever told me I had to work on the weekends or nights. But I’m a workaholic. I’m a fiend that is fueled by a todo list and each completed check mark equate to eurphoria. I’m jacked up. I’m Mario and I just touched a fucking yellow star. And then… you feel the burn.
